FRANZISKA HOLSTEIN
Franziska Holstein (*1978) studied from 2000 to 2005 at the Leipziger Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst with Prof. Arno Rink and then master student with Prof. Neo Rauch. In the environment of a seemingly overpowering figuration, she consequently went her own way from the beginning, momentarily at a very decisive point of non-objectivity.
In 2019, solo exhibitions were dedicated to Holstein at FORUM KUNST Rottweil and in the Kunsthalle Bremerhaven. Her works were also part of the survey exhibition Jetzt! Junge Malerei in Deutschland, among others at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. Until the end of September 2023, Holstein’s works can be seen in a comprehensive solo exhibition at the von der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal in dialogue with works of Concrete Art from the museum’s collection.
