NORBERT KRICKE
Norbert Kricke (*1992-†1984) is one of the most important representatives of German Postwar Modernism. He dealt intensively with the forms of abstraction and created sculptures of the greatest intimacy and freedom from seemingly incidental materials such as wire. Parallel to his sculptural work, he developed an extensive body of drawings.
He partook among others in the documenta II (1959), the documenta III (1964) and the Venice Biennale (1964) and he was rector of the Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf between 1972 and 1981.
